George Lloyd started in business in his home town of Whitehaven, Cumbria, selling and repairing motorbikes.
One of the UK’s first Honda dealers he relocated his business to Hamilton, Scotland. This new showroom had a massive range of motorcycles and motorcycle clothing on display.
George soon started to shift the focus of the business to concentrate on motorcycle clothing and helmets.
Moving the business back to his native Cumbria, George took the market by storm when he launched Nitro with just three models; one motocross and two full face helmets in 2001.
Nitro burst onto the market with a simple philosophy; high end specifications and features but at affordable prices everyday bikers wanted.
The brand has gone from strength to strength and now offers the full range of motorcycle helmets; full face, open face, flip front and motocross.
The Nitro HQ is still in Penrith in the Lake District and houses a museum of George’s private collection of motorcycles.
