In 1990 Arthur Liao started his motorcycle helmet manufacturing business in a small rural workshop with a single employee, Peng Zheng (who still works for the company).
Originally called Xiqing Plastics; the LS2 brand name wasn't introduced to the world until the 2007 EICMA motorcycle expo in Milan.
Demand for Xiqing helmets increased so quickly that 2 years later the company moved to a new factory and Arthur recruited his brother Stephan and 100 other people to the team.
Another two years down the line and the company moved again, this time into its own purpose-built factory, changing the helmets brand name to Fengxing.
By 1997 the company was a huge success in China and, looking to the global marketplace, changed their brand name to MHR, investing heavily in machinery and technology.
As the business continued to flourish, Arthur brought in his other brother Paul to make it a truly family company and in 2005 they acquired Jiangmen Pencheng Helmets LTD (JPH).
The brothers had realised that they needed to sell their own brand of helmets, rather than manufacture for other brands and so in 2007 using the initials of "Liao's System" the LS2 brand name was launched in Milan.
As part of their global expansion plans, LS2 established their head office in Barcelona, Spain and opened a distribution facility in Chicago, Illinois.
LS2 helmets are driven by passion, where technicians, engineers and designers give their all to get the best from their helmets.
In fact, a certain number of LS2's production helmets are never sold; they batch test these in their lab with each helmet undergoing rigorous examination to ensure that it meets or exceeds the standards required.
