Klim began life in 1994, in Salt Lake City, Utah as Teton Outfitters, producing customised snowsuits for ski patrols.
Five years later the company relocated to Rigby, Idaho and changed its name to Klim.
In the US snowmobiling was fast becoming an extreme sport, and Justin Summers, Klim’s Founder and CEO, saw an opportunity to expand their range; developing equipment using technically advanced materials like Gore-Tex and Cordura to make the gear the riders demanded.
Some Klim employees, who rode off road motorbikes during the summer, began developing new motorcycle products using the experience they had gained for snow mobile riders to make the kind of riding gear they wanted.
This new off-road clothing with Klim's reputation for quality, technically advanced riding gear made an immediate impact with off road and dirt riders.
In 2009 the company noticed another trend; adventure riders were mixing and matching combinations of Klim’s snow and dirt products. Klim’s designers immediately began making adventure motorcycle specific products and clothing.Klim continues to be guided by rider’s needs, listening to customer feedback and asking questions about what riders need and what they want the equipment to do.
