OK It isn't the biggest, baddest chain out there and a cold chisel will probably smash the lock or chain, but it looks and feels very substantial so will certainly act as a deterrent. The key needs to be pushed all the way in as it will go halfway and then turn (but doesn't unlock). Confused me at first and a drop of 3-in-1 made that better. Certainly more than I expected for the price.
