Innovative summer boot Review by: Rogerborg

A genuinely different boot. Made of sturdy good quality and flexible but tough plastic rather than cheap leather, with a very solid sole - great for putting the bike on its centre stand. They feel decently protective around the foot - the only ding is for a relative lack of solid protection above the ankle.

I decided to take a gamble on these as a dedicated summer boot to combat Sweaty Sock Syndrome. Pulling away, I could immediately feel refreshing air entering through the mesh inserts at just a few mph. Due to some form of magic in the construction, the air flow then seems to stay constant at speeds up to the NSL (and a bit beyond on a private road). I don't know how it works, but it does. Exactly what I was looking for.

Of course, they aren't even remotely water resistant and leak like sieves through the mesh, but then again most boots do leak sooner or later, so for touring you'd want to pack Sealskins socks anyway. But when the sun shines, so do these boots.
